Specialty Events

At Pittsburgh's Grand Hall, we can accommodate any type of event.

Holiday Parties

Whether for companies, non-profit organizations, or individual clients, we can throw a heck of a Christmas or Holiday party here at the Grand Hall! It takes us a two days to install our many and intricate decorations which transform our space into a Winter Wonderland!

The Grand Hall is available for Holiday lunches, dinners, cocktail parties or whatever other type of celebration catches your fancy!

Corporate Functions

Think of the Grand Hall as your canvas for your next corporate event. You can paint it any way you desire. We’ve handled continuing education and cocktails for 75, music-forward networking parties for 500, and annual dinners for 350. Name the event and we’ve handled it, and if not, we’re game to make it work!

Celebrations

For marking special occasions, the Grand Hall is your go to place. Whether it’s a birthday party, graduation party, retirement dinner anniversary celebration or similar event, our chefs and staff are committed to make sure that your special day is a memorable one. Our staff has overseen Sweet Sixteen parties with specialty menus (Mac & Cheese and Sliders!), to Bar Mitzvahs, to elegant sit down dinners commemorating a 90th birthday. Our room is your canvas and our promise is to help our clients create an event that will be talked about for years to come!

Proms

Here at the Priory and Grand Hall, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate our youth. When it comes to proms, our team is dedicated to make sure that every detail is correct – the decorations, the food, the band placement – nothing is left to chance. And with our garden courtyard, the Priory and Grand Hall are the perfect spot for pre-dance mocktails and mingling!

Charity Fundraisers

If any events are in our wheelhouse, it’s charity fundraising events. We work with our clients to make sure that we maintain event costs within their budgets, and flexibility is our middle name when it comes to the type of event. We've hosted any type of fundraiser one can dream up, and some you haven't! And we pride ourselves in looking to create new, different and fund menus to meet our clients’ event themes. A brief overview of events that we’ve hosted:

Gregory’s Gala - a Roaring 20’s themed event for 200 with a specially created 1920’s themed menu

Cystic Fibrosis Wine Opener - a stationed event featuring local restaurants and wineries

Team Tassy's Blackjack Spectacular - 10 Blackjack tables, 1 Roulette table, and the feel of a 1950’s Havana casino raises money for Haitian families every year

Three Rivers Rowing Juniors Wine Tasting - 300 people, 4 wines and some great food and entertainment make for a fun annual event.

Homeless Children's Education Fund Voodoo Brewery Food Truck Throwdown - this is an outdoor event in our courtyard, with four food trucks who’s wares are paired with four Voodoo Brewery beers, al to raise money for the Homeless Children’s Education Fund.

Organization Events

It’s been our honor to host many an event for nonprofit organizations over the years, and, keeping with a theme, we are as flexible as we can be to ensure that we work with our clients’ budgets and also to work with them in planning their events, suggesting menus and themes to assist them in making their events as memorable as possible. Some organizations that we have hosted over the years include the North Side Leadership Conference Annual Dinner, the North Side Sandwich Week Sandwich Faceoff, the Georgetown University Alumni Association’s continuing legal education course and cocktail party, numerous sports boosters organizations’ dinners, and Urban Impact Foundations annual Gala, which involves massive projection screens and a 40 person youth choir on risers!

The Offbeat

It seems like the word “No” is not in our vocabulary! We have had the pleasure (and fun) of hosting a variety of offbeat and original events over the years. For us, if it’s not going to burn the house down, harm innocent people or animals, or result in arrests, our answer will generally be yes. Some examples of our offbeat hostings:

The Donnybrook - We’ve hosted the Pittsburgh Donnybrook boozing match, which features more than a dozen Irish fighters squaring off against Pittsburgh fighters, in our Grand Hall since 2014! It’s 800 guests, four bars, food stations, a huge amount of TV equipment and a boxing ring plopped in the middle of our dance floor!

Meeting of the Malts - We hosted three of Pennsylvania premier craft brewers for the PA Brewers’ Association, where they chatted onstage about the brewmaking experience and offered their wares paired with small plates from our chefs Pete Phillipy and Mike Henney.

Concerts - We’ve hosted a variety of shows, from Black 47 to former Saw Doctors front men Anto Thistlewaite and Leo Moran.

Easter Rising 100th Anniversary - Featuring dramatic readings and an Irish themed stations menu.

AOH Communion Breakfast - This annual event’s highlight is a Catholic mass, one of the few masses permitted outside a consecrated church by the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
